Schrödinger Deluxe Ultra is a relay trailrunning race where teams need to visit 35 known points in an unknown order. Teams always know only the next point since that's more than enough. The order of points and the distance varies by team and is not known even for the organizers.
The race uses the time tracking system of Gulyakör. The order of points are determined by the Gulyaturmix. Knowing and using these is the responsibility of the runner. It's worth giving a shot to Gulyaturmix beforehand: it's free and open 24/7.
The only refreshment point is at the startpoint and endpoint (Csemetekert) where runners are expected to pass frequently.
In case of an appropriate relay strategy you don't need a car for logistics. A bike can be useful though, but that's not a must either.
The size of the relay team can be anything between 1 and 35 but above 4-5 people we think it gets boring due to the long waiting time. All teams are in the same category.
START
10th May 2025 Saturday 8:00:00AM.
Time does not start with the first GPS checkin but at 8AM sharp for everyone.

Dobogókő
Next to the points of the Classic track there are 5 more checkpoints near Dobogókő. There are 40 checkpoints in total but 5 of them randomly are left out, so the team needs to visit only 35 of them. (The 5 left out checkpoints are different for each team and is unknown until the very end of the race.)
Near Dobogókő and Pilistető there are many highly protected areas where it's forbidden to leave the signed tourist paths. Leaving the paths in these areas (look for "Fokozottan védett terület" on the map) leads to disqualification.
Expected distance: 201 km.
Shortest known distance: 37 km.
Longest known distance: 288 km.
Cutoff time: 40 hours, i.e. you need to finish until 11th May midnight.
The GPX file of the points can be downloaded from here:

NOONE ASKED BUT WE ANSWER
1. WHAT'S THIS NAME?
Schrödinger was an Austrian physicist who's most known for his cat. The cat is the protagonist of a thought experiment that was supposed to show the mindblowing aspect of quantum mechanic systems being able to be in several states at the same time until we really try and measure which state it's actually in. For example, a cat can be dead and alive at the same time. The cat only dies (or survives) when we open the box. In case of Schrödinger Deluxe Ultra the cat is the order of checkpoints that is unknown until someone finishes the race.
Deluxe because of the refreshment.
And Ultra because it sounds cool.
2. WHAT HAPPENS IF THE GPS CHECKIN ON MY PHONE DOES NOT WORK?
In this case you can't complete the race. Try it before the start.
3. ARE THERE QR CODES?
No, only GPS checkin.
4. WILL IT BE POSSIBLE TO FOLLOW HOW TEAMS STAND RELATIVE TO EACH OTHER?
Mostly yes. On the page of each team (e.g. here) you can find the list of visited and unvisited points and the expected distance to go. An estimated minimal and maximal distance to go is also displayed.
5. ISN'T IT UNJUST THAT TEAMS RUN DIFFERENT DISTANCES?
Yes, it is.
6. WILL THERE BE ANY COURSE MARKING?
No, there won't be.
7. WHAT'S AN "APPROPRIATE RELAY STRATEGY"?
There must be more than one but the 2024 winner team switched runners if they got a checkpoint near Csemetekert. For this you don't need a car nor a bike. Truth be told, during realization they used a car once, but even then they just joined another team's car.
